About Henderson Aviation
Henderson Aviation Company, founded over 40 years ago, is a locally owned and operated business in Oregon. Originally founded as Livingston Air Dusting in 1946, the company operated Stearman biplanes from the Corvallis airport, providing crop dusting services in the Willamette Valley. Charles "Herb" Henderson began work as a line pilot for Livingston in 1947, and took over as Chief Pilot in 1951. In 1957, Herb Henderson obtained his helicopter rating , and the company acquired its first helicopter, a Hiller 12E. Four years later, in 1961, Herb Henderson purchased Livingston Air Dusting and changed the name to Henderson Aviation Company. In the late 1960's, believing the future of agricultural application and expanded operations lay with helicopters, fixed wing aircraft were phased out and helicopters became exclusively operated for all commercial purposes. Henderson Aviation Company debuted the first commercially operated turbine-powered helicopter on the west coast; a Bell 206 JetRanger.
Henderson Aviation Company has pursued a course of steady growth with continual upgrades in equipment and service. Our current fleet of five (5) turbine powered helicopters includes 2 Bell 206 B-III Jet Rangers, two Bell 206 L-III Long Rangers, and a Bell 206 L-IV Long Ranger with a high altitude tail rotor.
2004 saw Henderson Aviation expand into the Central Oregon market. We now have an office, hangar and aircraft centrally located at the Redmond airport (RDM). Our 50 x 70 foot hangar allows our aircraft to be protected from the elements and ready for service all year round. Our 14,000 square foot Eugene location 1 mile NE of the Eugene Airport (EUG) is our main base of operations with ample room for projects, maintenance and customer service. Both locations have full-time, on-site maintenance staff to provide quick, efficient repairs and effectively minimize any potential down-time for our fleet.
These convenient locations in combination with our well maintained equipment and four full-time pilots, as well as our office staff provide our customers with timely, safe and professional aviation services.
All aircraft are FAA Part 133 External Load, 135 Air Taxi approved as well as interagency carded with the USFS / AMD for fire suppression and project work.
